Reinsuring Risk Retention Groups
Aggregate reinsurance is designed to protect a Risk Retention Group's overall loss ratio over a period of time.
Casualty Clash reinsurance only pays when the loss exceeds a pre-agreed amount which is retained by the Risk Retention Group or the risk excess / quota share reinsurer.
Also known as Specific Coverage, Risk Excess reduces a Risk Retention Group's exposure on any one individual risk but excess of a pre-determined amount.
Using the quota share method a Risk Retention Group cedes a pre-agreed percentage of its premium to a reinsurer who in turn agrees to pay the same percentage of claims.
